About FightBack Ireland
FightBack Ireland is a free, independent resource for Irish consumers who have been wronged by financial institutions — and want to do something about it.
Banks, insurers, and lenders have entire legal departments. You have Google and a sense of injustice. This site exists to close that gap. Every guide, template, and tool on this site is designed to give you the same structured, step-by-step approach that a professional advocate would use — for free.
We cover the full complaint lifecycle: from understanding your rights, to sending Subject Access Requests, to filing formal complaints, to escalating to the FSPO, DPC, or the courts. No jargon. No waffle. Just actionable steps.

Why this exists
The Irish financial complaint system is powerful but badly signposted. The FSPO can make legally binding decisions and order compensation in the tens of thousands. The DPC can investigate GDPR breaches. The Central Credit Register gives you the right to challenge and correct your credit data. But most people don't know these systems exist, let alone how to use them effectively.
This site was built from direct, personal experience navigating these systems. Every guide was written because someone needed it and couldn't find clear, actionable information anywhere else.
Who it's for
Anyone in Ireland who has a legitimate grievance with a financial institution and wants to fight it themselves. Whether your bank reported incorrect data to the Central Credit Register, your insurer rejected a valid claim, or a debt collector is chasing a statute-barred debt — this site shows you exactly what to do.
This is not a blog. Not advice. Action.
Every page on this site exists to help you take a specific, concrete step toward resolving your dispute. If it doesn't help you act, it doesn't belong here.
